It is the most discouraging part of jee-2006. Suppose a question has 4 correct option and the student has opted for 3 of them, he is not getting any fovour for his answers, and we instead of giving him marks for three answers we are rewarding him with negetive marks.

i m not totally against -ve marking in questions with more than one answer correct.i would rather say that in such questions marks should be alloted to options.the option which is most accurate must be given higher poilnts and so on.And should be given accordingly which option is correct.
(Note: Option based negative marking questions were included in OETS 06 for the first time in India by 123iitjee.com)

it is the law of nature-- one has to pay for his/her mistake . any system against the nature can not sustain . negative marking keeps us more alert . it really tests our balance of knowledge,logic and 6th sense-- these all are necessary for us to win , finally.

The main idea behind the Q. having more than 1 ans. correcct is that the students have to think practically and have a vast knowledge about the topics, also getting 1 or 2 ans. right out off 3 just shows either he has no knowledge about the 3rd ans. or he can not think for that option.questions having more than one answer correct is the real and good way to test a students knowledge

jee is a national competetive exam.there should be no scope for lucky guess.more over it would have been better if the %eligibility of 12th is more

Remarks: Negative marking in more than one answer correct type of questions was removed in JEE 2008.
